About the game
What you do in a play session
Strap into your cockpit, pilot! Dixon to Carrier: Scratch One Flattop is a fast-paced, intense dive into the heart of the Battle of the Coral Sea. The setting? May 1942, as the Japanese Empire thundered relentlessly across the Pacific. Your objective is clear and desperate: locate and sink the Japanese aircraft carrier IJN Shōhō before the situation turns disastrous for the Allies.
In this cooperative game, you aren't alone in the fight, but one mistake could send everyone to the ocean floor. Each player takes command of one or more Douglas SBD Dauntless dive bombers, operating from the USS Yorktown. The tension is palpable: you must find the target and ensure a direct hit, but the risks are high. If players lose too many planes or if the USS Yorktown itself is sunk, the Japanese Navy takes the win.
Featuring mechanics that blend point-to-point movement, dice rolling, and that classic 'push your luck' element that keeps your heart racing, this title is an adrenaline sprint. It's a compact wargame experience, perfect for those wanting to feel the weight of a historical mission without needing an entire afternoon of planning. Will you deliver the decisive blow that changed the course of the war, or will you end up in a watery grave? The choice is yours (and the dice's)!
