About the game
What you do in a play session
Hey everyone! How about building the city of your dreams, but with a paper-and-pencil twist? Doodle City is that quick family game that puts you in charge of a rising metropolis. The idea is simple and addictive: each player has their own city sheet, and the goal is to draw a network of roads connecting hotels, shops, and taxis, all while trying to keep pollution far away. Before starting, some roads through parks are randomized, ensuring that each game is a fresh and different puzzle. In each round, we roll one blue die and several white dice. The blue die tells you which column you must use, and the white dice indicate the rows. On your turn, you pick a white die and draw in the corresponding space. Most of the time, you'll draw roads, but in parks, you build houses instead. You can only draw once in each space, and if you can't draw anything on your turn, you gain a pollution point – and nobody wants that, right? Scoring happens instantly! Drew a road through a hotel space? Points for the length of the road passing through that hotel. Connected houses to a shop? More points! And there are also bonuses for the first player to connect a certain number of houses to a shop. The game ends when someone reaches the highest possible hotel or shop score, or when pollution takes over and you lose your last tree. In the end, connected taxis and the level of pollution (who has the least or most) also count. Get your pen ready and let's build!
