About the game

What you do in a play session

Gear up, folks! Fields of Fire Vol. II: 'With the Old Breed' puts you in the boots of a rifle company captain, commanding the elite of the US Marine Corps. Prepare for an epic journey through three historically significant campaigns: World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. In Peleliu, you'll feel the scorching heat and Japanese fury in September 1944, forced to dig out the enemy from coral ridges. Then, face the freezing cold of Korea in November 1950, where waves of Chinese descend the rugged mountains of the Chosin Reservoir. Finally, dive into the urban chaos of Huế, Vietnam, in February 1968, fighting house to house. This solo game is a system that challenges you to command a rifle company, and the coolest part: no dice involved! Everything is resolved with cards. The Terrain Deck builds the mission map, based on real regions, while the Action Deck dictates combat, command, and possible actions. You'll manage unit counters, from headquarters to squads, support weapons, and vehicles. Each mission takes about 1-2 hours, and stringing several together forms a historical campaign where you deal with experience and replacements. It's the second installment of the acclaimed Fields of Fire series, bringing more tactical action straight to your tabletop.
