About the game
What you do in a play session
Fractal: Beyond the Void takes the 4X genre to a whole new level by blending expansion, exploration, technology, and diplomacy into a legacy setting that evolves each session. After millennia of the Federation’s collapse, surviving species launch back into space in search of new worlds, but only one empire can dominate the galaxy. The game offers a modular board that can be reconfigured each game, keeping the surprise and replayability alive. Each player receives action points that can be used to move units, attack, research, and more, while the area‑movement mechanic simplifies mass troop movement. The legacy aspect is epic: decisions and victories shape history, with permanent changes that affect rules, components, and the narrative itself. The factions are highly asymmetric, each with unique powers, political philosophies, and battle masteries that demand distinct strategies. Tactic cards replace dice, turning combat into a bluff, deception, and deduction game. The Alliance expansion already brings a cooperative and solo mode, while the “The Aftermath” campaign delivers an engaging story that evolves with players’ progress. High‑quality miniature components add a visual touch that elevates the experience. Fractal is for those who love deep strategy, rich narrative, and infinite replayability, but it requires dedication and patience to master its complex mechanics.
