About the game
What you do in a play session
Ever dreamed of a degree that involves... well, raising the dead? In Graduate in Necromancy, you play as a recent Necromancy Bachelor graduate who has realized that raising skeletons for just a couple of hours isn't exactly the legacy they want to leave behind. Your goal is ambitious: earn your Master's degree in just two academic semesters!
But don't expect a walk in the park. Being a magic student comes with a price, and the biggest one is your sanity. To graduate, you must balance three critical pillars: accumulating at least 45 credits from completed courses, finishing your master's thesis, and—most importantly—not losing your mind in the process. If your sanity hits zero, you won't become a master; instead, you'll turn into an insane fiend haunting the university corridors.
The gameplay is fast, intense, and packed with strategic choices. Each turn, you draw a card from the current semester's deck. Most will be course cards, and that's where the real decisions happen. You can choose to enroll in a new course (gaining credits but losing sanity), discard the card to raise the dead and trigger bonuses from previously completed courses, or discard it to push your thesis forward. Another clever mechanic is the 'Maybe later' pile: you can set cards aside to be shuffled into the second-semester deck, adding a deck-building element that shifts the game's momentum.
The game features engine-building mechanics, where completed courses allow you to tackle more advanced subjects with bigger rewards. There's also a strong 'push your luck' element, as you never quite know what the next card in the deck will throw at you. Since it's a Print & Play title, the barrier to entry is incredibly low, and replayability is high thanks to the varying semester decks. It's the perfect quick-hit challenge for a 15-minute gaming session!
