About the game
Imagine the end of the world starting with a single passenger disembarking at JFK. James Franklin, Patient Zero, has just brought the Morbusian virus to Forest Hills Hospital—a mutating virus that is currently outsmarting every known antiviral. Now, the survival of humanity rests in your hands! In Infection: Humanity's Last Gasp, you step into the role of the director of the Department of Plague Control (DPC) in New York City. Your mission is desperate: develop a vaccine before the virus takes over the world. To achieve this, you'll have to manage a lab filled with eccentric scientists (who don't always play nice) and even a very resourceful lab rat named Marvin. The game is a tense balance between science and chaos. You'll need to hire the right personnel, purchase cutting-edge equipment, and piece together a puzzle of proteins to create an effective vaccine. But don't be fooled: time is running out, and your funding dwindles as the death toll rises. Random event cards can be your salvation or your worst nightmare, shifting the course of your research. Furthermore, every failed containment roll with the dice brings humanity one step closer to total collapse. It's a deep strategy game with straightforward rules, where every budget decision and every dice roll could be the deciding factor between saving the human race or the eternal silence of Earth. If you enjoy survival challenges with a layer of resource management and a touch of constant tension, grab your lab coat!
