Babies have no beanometer – harvesting them yields nothing – but they have a handy side effect: when planted, a female bean in the same field can move two cards toward the top of the stack, pulling a higher‑value card into reach for later harvest. This creates a lively trading dynamic, as players swap beans, babies and fields to assemble the most lucrative sets. The goal is to collect bean sets that score higher when harvested, balancing bartering with planting strategy.
