About the game

What you do in a play session

In Let's Make a Bus Route, you're stepping into the shoes of a public transport mogul in sunny Kyoto! Your mission? To create the most efficient and charming bus routes to serve everyone: students, the elderly, tourists, and commuters just trying to get from A to B. But hey, it's not just about drawing a straight line! You need to dodge traffic jams and, perhaps, pass by cool tourist spots for people to enjoy. The game features a shared map where everyone draws their routes, but each player has a personal board with unique challenges. A route color might mean one thing to you and another to your friend, like 'go two blocks' or 'turn right'. Each round, a route is revealed and everyone plays. After tracing the path on the map, you mark on your board what you encountered along the way: passengers, sights, stations, universities. Different passenger types are worth points in different ways, and whoever marks certain icons or areas first gets bonus points. Good planning is crucial! Oh, and be careful not to cross another bus's path, or you'll face penalties. Meeting public demand card objectives also earns extra points. It's a quick game with a touch of luck and plenty of strategy to see who builds the best bus network and wins over the city!
