Mega Empires: The East is a massive strategy adventure that puts you in charge of a civilization from the Stone Age to the Late Iron Age. The map stretches from Northeast Africa to Southwest Asia, and every corner of the board offers resources, cities, and trade opportunities. The goal is simple: rack up victory points by building cities, developing tech advances, and trading commodity cards with other players. The heart of the game is the trading mechanic – you swap goods, but watch out: calamity cards also mix in the deck, and if you finish a round holding one, disaster strikes your civilization. Pressure comes from territorial skirmishes, negotiations, and natural or civil calamities that can swing the game in a few turns. To excel, you need to know when to use your advantage tokens, when to invest in advances that give discounts on future advances, and when to protect your cities with the best tech. The experience is social and strategic: players act simultaneously in a flow of decisions that can last from 3 to 12 hours, depending on the number of participants. With 3 to 9 players, the game works well in larger groups but can also be played with fewer players thanks to its scalability.
