Suit up and organize your fleet, because in Nexus Ops, the fight for lunar control is brutal! Imagine you're leading a futuristic corporation with one goal: dominate the extraction of Rubium, a precious ore found on the Moon. To achieve this, you'll need strategy, a bit of luck with the dice, and a lot of grit to face your rivals in intense battles.
The game features a modular hexagonal board, meaning the map changes every time you play, forcing you to adapt your tactics on the fly. You'll have access to various alien races, each with its own combat stats (similar to the Axis & Allies series), making the choice of who to send to the front lines crucial. Victory is achieved by collecting victory points, either by winning battles or completing secret missions that provide that final push toward the win.
But don't worry, losing isn't the end of the road! There's an interesting compensation system: players who lose battles receive Energize cards. These cards grant special powers that can turn the tide of the game later. Additionally, there's the Monolith, an imposing structure in the center of the map that acts as a 'King of the Hill' objective; controlling this area also grants Energize cards. It's a game where you must balance 'Take That' aggression with the smart management of your cards and troops.
