About the game
Niagara plunges players into the roaring waters of the famous falls at the close of the 18th century. Shawnee and Iroquois tribes point white desperadoes, mercenaries and explorers toward hidden caches of precious gems, hoping to pit them against each other and keep them away from tribal expansion. Each player commands one of these adventurers, racing to be the first to claim five jewels. The journey is anything but smooth: river speed shifts each round, driven by player decisions and ever‑changing weather. Letting a canoe go over the falls means a costly replacement, so careful hand management and route selection are crucial. On top of that, desperate bandits may ambush adventurers returning to camp, adding extra risk to the treasure haul. Niagara’s standout feature is its innovative movement system, where canoes are pushed or slid along 3‑dimensional tracks that mimic the river’s force, all set against a striking 3D waterfall backdrop. The game blends set collection, pick‑up‑and‑deliver, and simultaneous action selection, delivering quick (30‑45 minute) and easy‑to‑learn rounds that still demand attention to opponents' moves and shifting weather. Perfect for 3‑5 players who love light‑weight adventure and strategic tension, Niagara offers high replay value thanks to varied routes, cards and weather events.
