About the game
Get your headdress ready and prepare for high-level competition in the Yucatan Peninsula! In Palenque, you aren't just a spectator of history; you are one of the powerful kings attempting to challenge the dominance of Pacal, the great king of Palenque. The atmosphere is filled with political tension and territorial expansion. The goal is simple, but the execution is pure strategy: you must dominate the region's resources and ensure your influence is the greatest among the Mayan kingdoms.

The gameplay is highly dynamic. You'll have a set of ten different resource cards and will need to manage your action points very carefully to avoid falling behind. Want to build imposing temples to showcase your faith and power? Go for it! Need to shift a neighbor's borders to secure a vital resource? That's your right! The struggle unfolds through controlling markers across the 14 kingdoms of the region. But watch out: scoring doesn't happen all at once. The game is divided into scoring rounds, and every time a score card is revealed, everyone pauses to see who is dominating the area. Whoever accumulates the most control over the peninsula throughout these rounds will be crowned the supreme ruler. It's a game of 'who is smarter' regarding positioning, where every action point counts and every border shift can change the fate of your empire. If you enjoy pure strategy games where the board is your battlefield and intellect beats luck, Palenque is for you!
