About the game
What you do in a play session
In Peter's Two Sheep Dogs, you and your opponent take on the roles of sheepdogs, diligently guiding livestock (sheep, pigs, and cows) from the grasslands to the fences and, ultimately, to the safety of the hut. But there's a twist: a cunning wolf lurks, ready to devour your precious animals and deduct points. The main challenge is to balance protecting your own flock with trying to direct the wolf towards your opponent's pastures, creating a constant dilemma of offense and defense. The game ingeniously blends the classic Mancala mechanic with Trick-taking elements. Essentially, winning a trick allows you to collect animals in your grasslands, while losing a trick gives you the opportunity to perform a movement action with animals from one of your pastures. Efficiently moving animals towards the fences, whether yours or your opponent's, can earn you extra actions and bonus points. Scoring occurs in two phases, spring and summer, with an interesting twist: if your summer score is lower than your spring score, it becomes zero! But if it's more than double, your spring score doubles. It's a two-player strategy game that demands careful planning and a good dose of cunning to become Peter's best sheepdog.
