Pixies is a light card game that blends open drafting, connections, and set collection into a charming nature-themed setting. Each game revolves around four seasons, and players receive a deck of cards featuring creatures and symbols that emerge from flowers, trees, or small hideouts. At the start of each round, all cards are revealed and players take turns picking one, trying to build numeric and color sequences that cross the 3×3 grids. The goal is to create continuous color zones and spirals that connect; when a zone is completed it becomes “validated” and counts toward the final score. Additionally, each card placed atop another with the same number earns a bonus point, encouraging players to stack cards strategically. The game follows a score-and-reset cycle: at the end of each round, the score is tallied, players record their points, and the deck is reshuffled for the next phase. The open-draft mechanic ensures everyone has equal chances to pick cards, but the race to keep valuable cards in opponents’ hands makes advice from fellow players a fun and sometimes mischievous element. Pixies combines the simplicity of a card game with the depth of a grid-based strategy game, making it perfect for 2‑to‑5 players who want a quick (30‑minute) experience without sacrificing tactical fun.
