The Butterfly Garden

In 'The Butterfly Garden', you step into the shoes of an avid lepidopterist tasked with helping to expand and enrich a local butterfly garden's collection. The game unfolds over a series of rounds, each beginning with players strategically choosing a butterfly card from their hands to determine the turn order. Lower-numbered cards grant the advantage of acting first, but beware: they usually feature fewer butterflies. The butterfly cards are numbered from 0 to 59. On your turn, you'll capture butterflies from the 'field' (an area of face-up cards) and store them in your jar, represented by a special card under which you tuck the captured butterfly cards. The ultimate goal is to 'deliver' these butterflies to the garden to score victory points (VPs). To do this, you must pay attention to the available 'delivery' cards, which indicate which butterfly combinations are needed. Whoever first fulfills these requirements claims the delivery cards and the points. This race for deliveries creates constant tension, as players must balance the pursuit of valuable butterflies with the need to act quickly. Furthermore, some butterfly cards offer special powers, but using them often requires sacrificing your turn order priority, adding an extra layer of tactical decision-making. The player with the most VPs at the end of the game is declared the master collector! It's a game that demands planning, anticipating opponents' moves, and effective management of your hand of cards and your jar.
