About the game
What you do in a play session
Get ready for a frosty duel in Winter! In this super-fast abstract game, two players battle to dominate the frozen waters of a lake before the sun melts everything. Each game, the lake forms differently thanks to modular tiles, ensuring your strategy needs to be sharp. The goal is simple: have more chips of your color spread across the ice at the end.
The gameplay is divided into two distinct phases. First, the freezing: you use your snowflake cards to build the board and try to surround areas with four of your snowflakes, scoring points with chips. Think carefully about where to place each card to secure control! Then comes the unfreezing, where the mess is undone, moving and retrieving your pieces. It's a race against time and your opponent!
With games lasting only 10 minutes, Winter is perfect for those who enjoy strategic games that demand quick and smart decisions. Don't be fooled by its simplicity; the tactical depth lies in pattern building and area control. It's a game that fits in your pocket and your schedule, ideal for warming up your mind anytime. It won the Cardboard Edison award in 2021 and is the first in a '4 Seasons' series that promises more icy (or warm!) fun.
