About the game
What you do in a play session
Biomos puts you in the shoes of a planet slowly coming to life, eager to host ecosystems. For 1‑4 players, each gets a circular board that represents their world in the making. During quick turns you take part in an open draft of terrain tokens – water, ice, forest, mountain and desert – and decide where to place them to craft landscapes that meet the conditions of specific biome cards. When a terrain pattern matches a biome requirement, you claim that card and introduce a new species to your planet. The endgame is to have the richest variety of species once all spaces are filled. The game offers three ways to play: Family mode, which streamlines rules for newcomers; Solo mode, a single‑player challenge that tests your planning without opponents; and Competitive mode, where everyone races to build the most biodiverse world. A typical playthrough lasts about 20 minutes, leaving room for multiple rounds in one gaming night. Components are sturdy cardboard tiles and brightly illustrated tokens that feel good in hand. The contract mechanic shows up in the biome cards, acting as goals you must fulfill. Open drafting lets you see every option, enabling blocking and reading strategies. Pattern building is the core: correctly matching oceans, forests and mountains to each biome’s demand feels as rewarding as watching a thriving ecosystem emerge on your fictional planet.
