Drako: Dragon & Dwarves is an asymmetric strategy duel that pits two players in opposing roles: one leads a trio of fearless dwarves hunting dragons, while the other controls a hungry red dragon still chained in a shadowy valley. The dwarves’ goal is to defeat the dragon before it breaks free, while the dragon must survive long enough to escape the shackles and seize control of the board. Each side has a unique deck of cards, with symbols indicating possible actions such as attack, move, cast spells, or use equipment. The dragon can move around the board, bite, fire fireballs, fly (with limitations), and defend, while the dwarves attack with axes, crossbows, traps, and shields, moving individually or in groups. The core mechanic revolves around card management and spatial control on a hexagonal board, requiring each player to carefully plan their action points and choose the best way to use their cards before their hand runs out. The game lasts around 30 minutes and offers a delicate balance between card tactics and strategic positioning, making it ideal for fans of direct confrontations and quick decisions. The gameplay is intense, with every move having an immediate impact on the battle’s progression, and the variety of possible strategies keeps the game fresh each session. Drako blends the thrill of epic battles with the complexity of a well‑thought‑out card system, making it a memorable title for fans of asymmetric board games and tactical combat.
