About the game
What you do in a play session
Get ready to expand your domains in Kingdom Builder: Big Box (Second Edition)! Here, the goal is clear: build the most prosperous kingdom and hoard gold like there's no tomorrow. The board is a constantly changing puzzle, featuring nine terrain types, special locations, and castles that dictate your strategies. Each turn, you play a terrain card and must place three settlements on that landscape type. The golden rule? Always try to build adjacent to what you already have. If luck smiles upon you and you build next to a location, you might gain a special action to use on your next turn – imagine moving your settlements wherever you please! Building near castles guarantees gold, but true fortune comes from fulfilling the goals of secret objective cards. Each game is a new adventure, with a random set of objective cards, special actions, and even the map's layout. The Big Box supercharges this replayability, packing all expansions released to date (Nomads, Crossroads, Marshlands, Harvest) and three Queenies (Capitol, Caves, Island), ensuring no two games are alike. It's an accessible strategy game, yet with enough depth to keep everyone engaged, thinking about how to optimize every move to dominate the board and fill their coffers!
