About the game

What you do in a play session

In Maps of Misterra, you step into the boots of a daring explorer who has just stumbled upon a mysterious island brimming with secrets. Your mission? To chart every corner of this land, accomplish your own hidden objectives, and most crucially, create an accurate map of the island to rack up the highest score. Setup is straightforward: a central board depicts the island, and each player gets a personal map to record their findings. Each turn, you have two actions to choose from: move your explorer pawn across the central board or discover new terrains. When discovering, you'll pick from four randomly drawn terrain tiles. But here's the catch: a terrain type is only 'validated' after being explored twice. This means what you thought you'd mapped might change, and your personal map could become outdated! It's a game that demands a ninja-like balance between your personal goals and the accuracy of the overall map. You need to be clever not only to explore but also to ensure your cartography is correct, all while keeping an eye on the moves of other players who are also vying to control and map the island. Get ready for a race against time and your opponents to become the foremost cartographer of Misterra!
