About the game
What you do in a play session
In Mesopotamia: Cradle of Civilization, you'll forge your own path to glory in ancient Mesopotamia. The goal is straightforward: deliver four sacrifice tokens to the central Ziggurat. But don't be fooled, the journey is arduous and packed with strategic decisions! To perform these sacrifices, you'll need Mana, which is obtained through prayers in temples that you build yourself. Each turn, you have 5 movement points to explore the map, which can expand with new tiles as you advance. You'll collect essential resources like rocks and timber from quarries and forests, used to build huts, temples, and even to increase your population. Building a hut, a temple, breeding more people, or drawing an action card ends your turn. But beware: when you deliver a sacrifice, the messenger is sacrificed along with it, meaning you always need to think about replenishing your workforce. Managing your 'people' is crucial: some can stay in temples praying to generate Mana, others explore the map collecting resources, and still others assist in construction or the expansion of your civilization. Gradually, you develop your clan, optimizing each action to achieve victory. It's a game that demands planning and adaptation, with a smooth learning curve but strategic depth for those seeking an interesting challenge.
