About the game
Truck Takers is a trick‑taking card game that puts players in the shoes of rival truck‑stealing gangs. Each match revolves around who can rack up the most “cash points” without attracting police attention. The twist is that every turn you play one face‑down card and one face‑up card. The revealed card determines who wins the trick, but the hidden card decides the new trump suit and is the key to controlling the flow of the game.

At the start of each round the winner selects an opponent’s face‑up card, which then receives the face‑down card that brought them the trick. In this way, the victor can choose the card that will become the trump, giving them the advantage of playing in the trump suit or “bypassing” the led suit. Meanwhile, the face‑down card that accompanies the final card of the trick adds points to the player’s marker. If the marker exceeds the “heat” threshold, the player loses all points from that round – the pressure ramps up as the game progresses.

The game unfolds over three rounds, and the goal is to have the highest total of cash. The tension comes from bluffing: players may choose to play in the trump suit to trick opponents or play cards that do not follow the led suit to “bypass” the system. It’s a risk‑and‑strategy game where every choice can lead to a “jail” – losing points – or an unexpected “gain”.

The artwork features neon‑lit streets and stylized trucks, reinforcing the smuggling theme. The deck contains cards of different values and suits, and each player receives a score marker that moves along a “heat” track. For those who enjoy trick‑taking games with a dash of bluff and risk‑management, Truck Takers offers a fast, yet intense experience.
