About the game
What you do in a play session
In Veiled Fate, each player steps into the shoes of a deity who has sired a demigod among mortals. Your divine lineage is a secret only you know, and it becomes your hidden advantage. The board is a positional map where, on your turn, you have two actions to send demigods on Quests. Every Quest can resolve in two ways, and the outcome is decided by secret voting cards – the Fate Cards – that the gods play to sway destiny. When a Quest ends, the cards are revealed and the winning side awards Renown to some demigods while stripping it from others. The goal is to have your demigod hold the most Renown after three Ages (rounds). The game blends social deduction with strategic planning: you not only control your own demigod but can manipulate any of them, using special powers, bluffs, and hidden votes. Each move leaves clues about who your true divine child is, so watching voting patterns and quest choices is vital. Reveal your lineage too early and the other players may unite against you, making the balance between deception and cooperation the core challenge. Action Points cap what you can do each turn, while Hand Management governs which Fate cards you keep for crucial moments. Detailed miniatures bring the battlefield to life, and the included tray keeps components tidy. Veiled Fate runs in 60‑90 minutes, with a light‑to‑moderate weight (2.2/5), making it perfect for 2‑8 players who love bluffing, deduction, and a splash of mythology, all wrapped in lively social interaction.
