Get ready for an epic adventure in Root, a game of war and territory control where 2 to 4 players (expansions can increase to up to 6) battle for dominance over a vast wilderness. Inspired by titles like Vast: The Crystal Caverns, Root stands out for its innovative asymmetric design: each faction possesses unique abilities and distinct victory conditions, ensuring a constantly fresh and interaction-rich gaming experience. The plot unfolds in a scenario where the nefarious Marquise de Cat has seized control of the forest, exploiting its riches. In response to this tyranny, the Woodland Alliance has formed, seeking to strengthen itself and overthrow the Cats' regime. To do so, they can enlist the help of the mysterious Vagabonds, wandering beings who know the forest's most dangerous paths and have their own agendas, remembering the times when great birds of prey ruled. Meanwhile, lurking on the fringes, the proud and squabbling Eyrie Dynasty, led by a new commander, aims to reclaim their ancient birthright. The stage is set for a conflict that will decide the fate of the forest, and it's up to you to decide which faction will ultimately take root. With gorgeous, multi-use cards and a design that emphasizes player-driven narrative, Root offers unparalleled replayability and a level of immersion that will captivate you. Leder Games invites you and your family to explore this fantastic world!
