About the game
Tea Garden is a strategy game that blends deck‑building, resource management, and a touch of worker placement. You take on the role of a tea‑garden owner in Yunnan, China, and your goal is to grow your empire by planting new gardens along the river. The heart of the game revolves around tea leaves, which start out green and, after fermentation, turn into black leaves of higher quality and value. Each region produces a different type of tea, and you must balance cultivation, fermentation, and sales to maximize profit.

Automatic resource growth means green leaves lose value each round while black leaves gain, creating a timing dynamic that demands careful planning. Your deck of cards is the key to performing the four main actions per round: plant new gardens, acquire cards, trade with caravans, and ferment leaves. Cards have varying strengths, and the stronger the card, the more effective the action. Secondary actions let you navigate the river, produce tea cups, or study at the university, adding layers of strategic choice.

The game also offers end‑game bonuses that reward collections of cards, types of tea, or production achievements, encouraging long‑term thinking and production optimization. With a typical playtime of 90 to 120 minutes, the experience is solid without being exhausting, and the 2‑to‑4‑player range keeps the interaction lively. If you enjoy games that combine deck‑building with a relaxed, strategic theme, Tea Garden could be your next discovery.
