About the game

What you do in a play session

In Alpujarras, you embark on a fascinating journey through Andalusia during the Arab Agricultural Revolution, a period of great innovation and prosperity. Players take on the role of dedicated farmers, transforming the region's arid hillsides into fertile lands, thanks to ingenious irrigation and terracing techniques. Your main goal is to cultivate various fruits and deliver them to nearby villages, where they will be sold for dinars. Life in the countryside can be challenging, but the reward of building a legacy and living in harmony with this stunning land is immense. The game uses a time track-based turn order system, where players move their mules. Whoever is 'behind' on the track always takes their turn, which can allow for strategic action sequences. Available actions include positioning new farmers to expand your workforce, moving farmers to optimize resource gathering, and expanding irrigation channels to reach new cultivation areas. By executing these actions efficiently, you cultivate your fruits, take them to market, and sell them, accumulating wealth and victory points. Prepare for a strategic challenge that combines resource management, area control, and a touch of market speculation, all immersed in a richly detailed historical theme.
