Game Objective
You are a monarch eager to expand your small kingdom. Your objective is to have the largest and most prosperous domain, conquering lands and defending them. The game ends when three card piles are depleted or the Province pile runs out. The player with the highest number of Victory Points in their deck is the winner.
Preparation (Setup)
- Shuffle the Kingdom cards and place them in the organizer insert.
- Place the Template in the center of the organizer insert with the Artisan at the top.
- Unwrap the card decks and place them in the spaces of the organizer insert next to their respective title on the Template.
- For each player, take 3 Estate cards and 7 Copper cards. Shuffle them and place them face down on the table to form the starting deck.
- Place 17 card piles face up on the table: 7 piles of Base cards and 10 piles of Kingdom cards.
- Randomly choose the starting player.
- Each player draws 5 cards to form their starting hand.
The Game Turn
Each turn has three phases:
- Action: Play an Action card from your hand. They have the word "Action" written at the bottom and a white stripe. Some generate "+1 Action", allowing you to play more Action cards in the turn.
- Buy: Play Treasure cards from your hand to get coins. Buy a card from the Supply that costs equal to or less than your coins. Use "+1 Buy" to buy multiple cards.
- Discard: Place played cards and cards from your hand into the Discard pile. Draw 5 cards from the deck for the next hand, shuffling the discard if necessary.
End of Game and Scoring
The game ends when the Province pile or any three piles are depleted. Sum the Victory Points of all cards. The player with the most points wins.
Tips for Winning
- Balance buying Treasure and Action cards to generate income and acquisition opportunities.
