Carcassonne: 20th Anniversary Edition celebrates two decades of a board game classic, bringing all the fun of the original game with a special twist. Here, each turn, you reveal and place a terrain tile representing a piece of the southern French landscape. It could be a city, a road, a cloister, or a field, and your challenge is to connect this tile to those already on the board, ensuring that cities meet cities, roads meet roads, and so on.

After placing the tile, the magic happens: you can decide to place one of your meeples (those cute little figures) on one of the newly created areas. It can become a knight in the city, a robber on the road, a monk in the cloister, or a farmer in the field. The clever part is that, upon completing one of these areas, your meeple returns to you and scores points.

The game is full of strategic decisions that seem simple but are quite deep: 'Is it really worth using my last meeple here?' or 'Should I expand my own city or disrupt my opponent's plan?'. Turns are super quick, as you only place one tile and, optionally, one meeple, but the tactical possibilities are enormous.

This 20th Anniversary Edition is not just the base game: it comes with the 'The River' mini-expansion (with five new river tiles) and 'The Abbot' mini-expansion, plus a new exclusive 15-tile 'anniversary' mini-expansion. All tiles have a special UV finish and are full of 'easter eggs' in the art for you to discover. And if you want to add an extra touch to your meeples, costume stickers are also included!
